Yes! While most homeowners policies exclude liability for businesses that are operated out of the home, we have made special arrangements with our insurance company to provide house insurance for RMT’s working out of their home provided they meet the underwriting requirements of the insurance company. There may even be discounts available if you are a graduate for certain schools.
YES! The CMTO only accepts OCCURENCE FORM liability insurance. If your current liability policy is a claims-made form, you should discuss the option of purchasing an extended reporting period with the current insurance broker to provide protection for you for claims that occurred while your policy was in force, but have not yet been reported. You will then have to obtain a policy in an OCCURRENCE FORM. The Lackner McLennan Policy is an occurrence form.
If you hold an inactive certificate with the CMTO, please note that you cannot continue to hold coverage. We do not charge a cancellation penalty, but will require that you notify us of your change if status.
Your policy renews the same time every year (or six months). The renewal date will be prominently displayed on your liability insurance certificate.
